14 - An interesting thing to note about this comic is that at the time "The Connector" was running a very well drawn epic comic strip called "Brazen", which was actually drawn by the comics page editor himself. I'm sure it was a very nice epic comic strip but I never had the attention span to read it. Any individual strip seemed to make no sense unless you could remember all the previous ones, which I never could. It was a weekly paper after all.

This strip never printed, but right after I submitted it to the editor, "Brazen" disappeared completely. I'm sure it was a coincidence.

16 - Comic number 14, the 'Epic' comic strip was created more as an excuse to use an Indian head test pattern than as a serious jab at the other cartoonist. This one however was definitely designed as a jab at "Hanging Around" which usually right directly to the right of "Coed Ninja".

As far as I can tell "Hanging Around" is a 'gimmick' comic strip, and the gimmick is that he traces photographs. Usually photographs of a domo-kun and uses it for his artwork. This was my way of showing off that I could trace Domo-kun too. Notice the oh-so-subtle inclusion of the word "trace" in the caption.

I never submitted this strip to the connector. Perhaps I should have, the creator of "Hanging Around" might have gotten a kick out of it.

(The image on Coed Ninja's screen can be found here. It is a trace a popular parody of a popular image often forwarded around by email.)
